After a short flight from Istanbul I landed in Dubai! This is my first time here, I never really had an interest to visit Dubai but now I had to in order to get a Visa for my next expedition...
It was an experience and i made so many good memories. I stayed at The Palm..... my first and probably last time here so i was going nothing short of luxurious. The stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and the iconic skyline set the perfect backdrop for this adventure.
No trip to Dubai was going to complete without a visit to the Dubai Mall & Burj Khalifa, so of course I went. Entering the mall was like walking into a gated city. Everything was extravagant, big and bright.
The fountain show and Burj Khalifa:
I watched the light show and water display from the Apple store balcony and then again in the courtyard, the display and colors had me fascinated I would have watched it all evening. Definitely worth seeing.
Then the aquarium filled with sharks and exotic fish I again was taken in just watching them swim.
Thinking back it's so crazy how big and bold the whole of Dubai is, it's like being in a movie with fancy cars, buildings, jewellery and luxury brands.
One of the highlights of my trip was enjoying drinks with Marc and Andrea at a bar called Blah Blah. The atmosphere was great with great music and even better company. We sipped on our beers while soaking in the breathtaking views and began our conversations about our previous trips and the upcoming trip we were about to go on it was the perfect way to unwind and kick off our Dubai adventure.
The next evening we met with the rest of our travel group who had all arrived in Dubai for the same reason as us..... Visas.
On this day we had handed over our passport to who we called "Visa guy" he arrived at our hotels collect our passports took our payments and off he went to the embassy. I spent the day slightly panicking, it's not everyday you hand your passport away to a random guy in a foreign country!
It all worked out well, by 5pm I had my passport back in my hand but now it contained a shiny new visa.
The following day, the three of us went on a thrilling desert day trip. Exploring the vast dunes was exciting, slightly filled with motion sickness but we survived. I then tried sandboarding, which was a blast as there's nothing quite like feeling the rush of adrenaline. I quickly realised I am no good at sandboarding and had an epic fall..... i couldn't stop laughing at myself. The vastness of the desert was very humbling.
As the sun began to set, we made our way to a traditional desert camp. The camel ride was a highlight, allowing us to experience the beauty of the desert in a unique way.
Watching the sunset to set was magical; the sky was filled with vibrant colors.
Dinner was a buffet, complete with delicious local food and live entertainment. We were treated to traditional music and dance, which added to the ambiance of the night. After our meal, we took a moment to gaze at the stars. The clear desert sky was filled with countless twinkling stars, a breathtaking sight that reminded me of the beauty of nature. They had telescopes set out so we could see the stars close up, I even got to see Jupiter!!
My time in Dubai was a perfect blend of luxury and adventure.
Now it's time for my next location which i never thought I would say ever but!!
